Diana Broome, MEd, CPhT, PhTR, is the Program Director for Pharmacy Technician Advancement at Harris Health, overseeing the School of Pharmacy Technician Advancement (SPTA). She holds a Master of Education degree from the American College of Education, a Bachelor's in Leadership and Management from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and two Associate degrees from Blinn College. Diana's professional focus includes workforce development, recruitment, and retention of allied healthcare professionals, particularly in advancing pharmacy technicians. Her work and research emphasizes creating pathways for skill development, certifications, and career progression. Diana has contributed to pharmacy technician education, serving as an ASHP/ACPE accreditation site surveyor, subject matter expert for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Workforce Education Panel, and an item writer for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board's Exam Development Committee. She has also developed instructional resources and practice exams for widely used pharmacy technician textbooks. Diana is an active member of ASHP, serving on the Technician Committee for the Gulf Coast Society of Health-System Pharmacists, a chapter of the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and is a member of the Pharmacy Technician Educators Council.
