Dr. Kate Cozart, M.Ed., Pharm.D., BCPS, BCGP, BCACP, is a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner practicing in Ambulatory Care at the Veterans Affairs Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) Community-Based Outpatient Clinic in Clarksville, TN. She completed her B.S. in Chemistry and M.Ed. in Secondary Curriculum & Instruction prior to her “first career” as a high school math and chemistry teacher. She later returned to school to pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Union University in Jackson, TN. She completed her PGY1 residency at the Memphis VA Medical Center after which she moved to Nashville, TN, to work for the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System. Her current role involves serving Veterans in Clarksville, TN, with a scope of practice in primary care. She also serves as the PGY1 Residency Program Coordinator, is a member of the Veterans Health Administration Education Advisory Committee, and has been active within the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Educators since its inception. She was in the inaugural class of ASHP Well-Being Ambassadors, was recognized as the ASCP Outstanding Student Preceptor of the Year in 2022, and most recently was selected by the Tennessee Pharmacists Association as the 2024 Health-System Pharmacist of the Year. She has a passion for writing and speaking on all things well-being - especially impostor syndrome, the inner critic, burnout, resilience, psychological safety, and compassion in medicine.
