Ryan C. Costantino, PharmD, MS, BCPS serves as the Chief of Data Science & Innovation within the Defense Healthcare Management Systems Program Executive Office. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, MA. He also holds a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Health Service Research and a Master of Science in Palliative Care from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. He completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at the University of Maryland (UM) Medical Center, and a PGY-2 Pain/Palliative Care Pharmacy Residency at the UM School of Pharmacy where he also completed a Pain/Palliative Care Fellowship. He serves as the clinical analytic expert and senior advisor to the Army Pharmacy Consultant and is appointed as a Deputy Pharmacy Consultant to the U.S. Army Surgeon General. Dr. Costantino leverages his clinical and health informatics experience to lead, design, and deliver capabilities that impact the quality, quantity, and clinical effectiveness of pharmaceutical health services. Ryan has served in multiple appointed and elected leadership roles within professional pharmacy organizations such as ASHP and APhA. Ryan is an active writer and researcher having authored several book chapters and peer-reviewed articles on palliative care, military health, and healthcare quality. He also serves as a reviewer for several academic journals including Pain Medicine, American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, and Military Medicine.
