Wesley D. Kufel, PharmD, BCPS, BCIDP earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency at SUNY Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, NY, and completed a PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy residency at University of North Carolina Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC.
He is currently a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Binghamton University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (BUSOPPS) in Binghamton, NY. He is also an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at SUNY Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, NY, where he provides clinical services for the antimicrobial stewardship program and the infectious diseases consultation teams. He also holds an appointment as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY.
His research interests are in the areas of infectious diseases. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed publications and has given several presentations at state and national conferences. He has served ASHP in multiple capacities including member of the Council on Therapeutics, Infectious Diseases Network Facilitator for the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists, Case Writer and Judge for the National Clinical Skills Competition, Author for the Ambulatory Respiratory Microcreddential Program, and Faculty Advisor for the School's Student Society of Health-System Pharmacy Chapter.
