Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice

Carolanne Wartman, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice & Science at the R. Ken Coit University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. Dr. Wartman completed her pharmacy education at Purdue University in 2020. She went on to complete a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Michigan and a PGY-2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency at Eskenazi Health in collaboration with Purdue University. Prior to her recent appointment at the University of Arizona, Dr. Wartman was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Mississippi, providing consultative care for long-term patients at Whitfield State Hospital. During that time, she was an invited speaker for multiple regional professional meetings for pharmacy and psychiatric providers, with an emphasis on the treatment and stigma surrounding SUDs. In her current clinical role, she provides consultation services for El Rio Health, a federally qualified health center in the Tucson area. Dr. Wartman's research interests focus on considerations within psychiatric pharmacy with an emphasis on SUDs and management of psychiatric medication-related complications. Additionally, she serves on the DEI Committee, as the DEI Community Co-Leader, and as an author for the BCPP Psychiatric Pharmacotherapy Review Course for AAPP, while also serving as the chair for the SUD SIG for AACP.
