Caryn Belisle is the Director of Pharmacy Regulatory Compliance, Quality, and Safety at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, in Boston, MA. She has been with the organization since 1999 and has been on the forefront of the advancement in healthcare technology to enhance patient safety. Caryn currently serves on the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy in the hospital pharmacist seat. Caryn is a Board-Certified Sterile Compounding Pharmacist, a Certified Pharmacy Executive Leader, and is a Fellow of both ASHP and MSHP. Her professional interests include regulatory compliance involving medication safety, The Joint Commission, controlled substance diversion monitoring, and USP chapters <797> and <800>; pharmacy operations, and quality process improvement using lean concepts. Her research focuses on quality and safety in the inpatient setting, the impact of legislation on pharmacy practice, and new technological advances in healthcare.
