Dr. Howe received her doctoral degree in pharmacy from South Dakota State University in 2005. After receiving her degree, she went and completed a post-graduate year 1 residency at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Prior to joining UTEP, she had practice experience in Acute Care/Hospital and Home Infusion. She joined UTEP in 2016 as an Office of Experiential Education Clinical Coordinator. In her role as Clinical Assistant Professor, her focus has been teaching in the Professional Innovation Leadership and Lifeskills courses for the P3 and P4 years and in the Practical Applications Lab for the P3 year. She also precepts Inpatient General Medicine APPEs at University Medical Center. Dr. Howe is the faculty advisor for the local Rho Chi chapter and the P3 Interprofessional Education (IPE) Champion. Her research interests include APPE-readiness, preceptor-readiness, and student success.
