Dr. Kyle Johnicker, PharmD, is the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, Illinois. Dr. Johnicker earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. After working for a few years in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Colorado at Denver, he began his pharmacy career as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist at Fayette Regional Health System in Connersville, Indiana. He moved on to become the Director of Pharmacy at Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle, Indiana Following a relocation to Chicago, Dr. Johnicker assumed the role of Clinical Manager for the Pharmacy Department at South Shore Hospital.
Dr. Johnicker has spent his pharmacy career in small community hospitals, most in a rural environment. He has found professional satisfaction in working in this setting, and finds small and rural community hospitals to be his calling. He understands the importance of a strong pharmacy department in these facilities and is committed to perfoming that service in his role. In his experience and current role, he leads the medication safety committee, antimicrobial stewardship activies, and pharmacy and therapeutics committee.
