Fay Hosseini is an experienced ER pharmacist at Harborview Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center in Seattle, WA. She completed her BSc.Pharm at the University of Toronto, pharmacy residency program at Fraser Health Authority in Vancouver, BC, and her post-Bachelor’s PharmD at the University of British Columbia.
Over the last 15 years, Fay has successfully introduced clinical pharmacy services at 3 different emergency departments; one in Vancouver, BC and two at UW Medicine in Seattle. She has received the annual Emergency Medicine Staff Excellence Award for ten consecutive years, highlighting her dedication to outstanding patient care and mentorship in the emergency department at UW Medicine.
Fay is also an active member of the Harborview Medical Center ER Resiliency Committee (2020 – present), as well as the UW Medicine Pharmacy Residency Resiliency Committee (2022 – present), where she conducts workshops for pharmacy residents.
As an experienced preceptor and a certified high-performance coach, Fay is fully aware of the impact of imposter like tendencies on resident mindset, wellbeing, performance, and overall career trajectory. She strives to create a psychologically safe work environment for residents to build confidence, enhance learning, and optimize growth and development.
To share some tips with a wider audience, Fay created 2 podcast episodes (A Dose of Perspective) about imposter syndrome to help normalize this phenomenon for learners and new graduates.
