Dr. Kathryn Litten is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy (UTCOP) and a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist with a practice site at CommUnityCare Health Centers in Austin, TX. She received Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Belmont University College of Pharmacy then completed a PGY-1 Residency at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC and a PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency at CommUnityCare Health Centers. At her clinical site she provides comprehensive medication therapy management for chronic disease states including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and anticoagulation. As a professor in the division of Pharmacy Practice, she teaches in pharmacotherapy courses such as Cardiology and Dermatology, and electives, such as Introduction to Ambulatory Care, Patient-Centered Diabetes Care, and Herbal and Botanical Supplements. She is a member of multiple professional organizations, including serving as President of the local Austin Area Society of Health System Pharmacists, Clinical Member-at-Large for Texas Society of Health System Pharmacists (TSHP), American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). In 2023 she was honored to receive TSHP's New Pharmacist Award and AACP's Women Faculty Special Interest Group's Early Transformative Teaching Award.
