Dr. Salama, PharmD, BCACP, BC-ADM, CDCES, serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Wyoming and practices at the University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency in Cheyenne, WY. Operating under a collaborative practice agreement, she autonomously manages various primary care disease states, focusing on cardiometabolic syndrome. Given the unique healthcare landscape of her rural community and FQHC clinic, a significant portion of her patient population presents with cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome (CKM), notably diabetes and weight management challenges.Recognizing the challenges posed by limited access to nutrition and essential providers for diabetes management in her region, she has dedicated time to enhancing her expertise in diabetes care, including lifestyle interventions, and advancements in diabetes technology. Her research interests include CKM and tobacco cessation.
Dr. Salama earned her PharmD from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS). She completed her PGY1 residency at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO, and her PGY2 residency in ambulatory care at ACPHS in Albany, NY.
Dr. Salama is involved in state and national pharmacy organizations, including ACCP, ASHP, ADCES, WPhA, and STFM. She is an active committee memeber of the ACCP Nephrology PRN.
