Andrew Kaplan, PharmD, BCPS, CPh is the Senior Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Formulary Stewardship and Neurology at Yale New Haven Hospital.
After receiving his Doctor of Pharmacy from St. John's University, Andrew completed a PGY1 Residency at Stony Brook University Hospital and a PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital. Andrew then became the Pharmacy Supervisor at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center. He moved to New York City and became the Assistant Director of Clinical Services for Mount Sinai West, overseeing Critical Care, Infectious Disease, Emergency Medicine, Transitions of Care and Internal Medicine. He was later promoted to Associate Director of Pharmacy, additionally overseeing Pharmacy Operations, Automation, and Inventory Management. He and his wife moved to South Florida in the end of 2021 to be closer to family. He then served as the Pharmacy Operations Manager at Bethesda Hospital East, where he led numerous operational and financial initiatives.
He served as the Vice President of Public Policy for the New York State Council of Health-system Pharmacists, overseeing legislative affairs. His involvement was instrumental in getting pharmacy technician legislation passed. He has served as a delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates from New York and Florida. He currently serves on the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders Advisory Group on Value, Quality and Compliance.
