Jennie Jarrett is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy and the Director of Science and Drug Policy at the American Medical Association. She received her PharmD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and went on to complete two years of residency. After years as a family medicine inpatient and outpatient clinician, she completed her master’s degree in medical education from the University of Pittsburgh and transitioned to her role at UIC as Research Assistant Professor. She recently completed her PhD at UIC in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Health Professions Education. Her current research and clinical work focuses on workforce development and implementation of interprofessional primary care teams to improve patient care for vulnerable, underserved populations with substance use disorders.
