Amy Mitchell, PharmD, CSP is a Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services at Vanderbilt Specialty Pharmacy, Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and completed two years of ASHP-accredited residency training at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, specializing in pediatrics. Upon completion of residency, Amy joined Vanderbilt Specialty Pharmacy in 2014. At that time, she managed the Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic and helped expand pediatric specialty pharmacy services to the Pediatric Rheumatology and Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinics. As a clinical pharmacist fully integrated into these clinics for 6 years, Amy had the unique opportunity to work alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, case managers, dieticians, and other members of the comprehensive care team. This model allows for efficient and coordinated care for specialty patients. In 2020, she transitioned into her current management position. In this role, she is responsible for the oversight of many different specialty pharmacy clinics at Vanderbilt Specialty Pharmacy, including the Pediatric Clinics, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Hemophilia, Endocrinology, Rare Disease and several others. Amy is also active in the advancement of pharmacy practice at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and serves as a Co-Chair for the Collaborative Pharmacy Practice Committee and as the Specialty Pharmacy representative in the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist Committee.
