Dr. Naples is a Safety Evaluator with the Office of Surveillance and Epidemiology’s Division of Pharmacovigilance at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In this role, she works with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate adverse events detected during postmarketing surveillance activities. She is a subject matter expert in adverse events associated with opioids, gabapentinoids, and skeletal muscle relaxants, with a specific focus on older adults. Prior to her current position, she served as the Clinical Pharmacist with the Department of Defense Office of the Army Surgeon General’s Pharmacovigilance Center, which monitored medication safety for more than 9 million members enrolled in the Military Health System. She also holds an appointment as an adjunct assistant professor at Thomas Jefferson University College of Pharmacy, where she teaches a graduate-level course in pharmacoepidemiology.
