Vincent Idemyor, Pharm.D is currently Professor and Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
He earned both his Bachelor of Science in pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy.
He has been active in the United States healthcare industry and academic profession for more than 30 years. He has amassed experience in teaching, clinical practice, and clinical research, specifically in the realm of infectious diseases pharmacotherapy, development, and implementation of disease state management.
He has held various professional management positions in affiliated community teaching hospitals in the United States where he built and managed clinical programs as well as providing didactic and student/residency training. He has assisted in securing more than $5 million (USD) to support various educational programs and research projects nationally and internationally.
He is the recipient of many awards for his work, including: 2001 ABHP Research and Publications Achievement award; 2003 Illinois Department of Public Health “Red Ribbon Award”; 2004 City of Chicago Commission on Human Relations Outstanding Achievement Award, the 2007 Medical Award of the Year from the National Technical Association, and the 2023 Donald E. Francke Medal from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
Dr. Idemyor’s current interest is primarily focused on professional practice development, clinical faculty advancement, and translational research and implementation science.
