Kathleen M. Vest, PharmD, BCACP, CDCES, FCCP is a Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy and an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist at Northwestern Medicine in Aurora, IL. Dr. Vest received her Pharm.D. degree from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2002 and completed a Primary Care Residency with an Emphasis on Education with Midwestern University in 2003. She has over 20 years of patient care experience in the ambulatory care setting, which includes providing anticoagulation, lipid, and diabetes management services as well as implementing comprehensive medication management services for high-risk patients as part of an interdisciplinary team. She precepts students and residents at the clinic. She serves as the director of a women’s health elective and teaches women’s health and psychiatry topics in the Therapeutics sequence at the University. Dr. Vest is involved in various state and national organizations and has served as Chair of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Women’s Health Practice and Research Network (PRN). Her research interests include women's health, the pharmacist's role in integrated care models, sex and gender differences in health care education, and innovative teaching methods in pharmacy education. Dr. Vest has developed and presented continuing education nationally on topics including women’s reproductive health, the pharmacist's role in integrated care models, and non-traditional work arrangements in pharmacy academia.
