Linda F. McElhiney, Pharm.D., M.S.P., R.Ph., FAPC, FASHP, FACA, is a clinical pharmacist for Elevance Health BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy. For over thirty years she was theTeam Lead for the centralized compounding service for the largest health-system in the state of Indiana.
In addition to her compounding responsibilities, Dr. McElhiney writes articles pertaining to hospital compounding for the International Journal of Pharmaceutical Compounding, author of the Compounding Guide for Ophthalmic Preparations, and has been a contributing author in several pharmacy and medical textbooks. She is served on the USP Committee of Experts for Compounding from the 2007-2015 cycle.
Dr. McElhiney is currently serving as Vice President of Alumni Development for Kappa Epsilon Pharmacy Fraternity.
Dr. McElhiney earned a B.S. in Pharmacy from Purdue University in 1984. She completed a nuclear pharmacy internship in 1983 prior to graduation. Upon graduation and prior to becoming a compounding pharmacist, she worked in several areas of pharmacy: nuclear, retail, hospital, and homecare. While working full-time at IU Health, Dr. McElhiney earned a Pharm.D. from the University of Florida through the Working Professionals Pharm.D. (WPPD) program in 2002. She recently has completed the ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Academy and is a 2014 graduate of the University of Florida Master of Pharmacy program with a focus on Pharmaceutical Policies and Outcomes.
