Dr. Giles Slocum is an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Factor Stewardship Pharmacist, and PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He also serves as an Assistant Professor for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Rush Medical College. Dr. Slocum earned his PharmD from the University of Iowa and completed his PGY1 residency at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford, Illinois, followed by a PGY2 residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Slocum's practice areas of interest include emergency medicine, toxicology, and hemophilia management. He is an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Emergency Medicine Practice and Research Network (EMED PRN), where he served as Secretary-Treasurer and moderated national discussions. Additionally, he is involved with the Emergency Medicine PHARMacotherapy Research NETwork (EMPHARM-NET).
His research interests span prehospital care, emergency medicine, and hemophilia management.
