David E. Zimmerman, PharmD, BCCCP, BCEMP, FASHP is an associate professor of pharmacy at Duquesne University School of Pharmacy and emergency medicine clinical pharmacist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Mercy Hospital. He completed his ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and PGY-2 Emergency Medicine residency at Maimonides Medical Center. He has served as a Pennsylvania delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates and is a past chair of the Advisory Group on Emergency Medicine for the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists. He currently serves as a content matter expert for the ASHP BCEMP Review course. He is co-editor and author of the ASHP Publication, Demystifying Drug Dosing in Obese Patients. His research focus is medication dosing in patients that are obese and the management of substance use disorders and pain in the emergency department.
