JAMIE THARP, PharmD, BCSCP is the Pharmacy Assistant Director of Compounding Compliance at the University of Michigan Health and adjunct clinical instructor at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. Prior to her current role, Dr. Tharp has also held a leadership position at UMH Children’s and Women’s hospital and spent 14 years in leadership and clinical practice at HomeMed, the UMH home infusion pharmacy. Dr. Tharp earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the UM College of Pharmacy in 2004 and achieved board certification in sterile compounding in 2020. She has served as a Director on Michigan Pharmacist Association (MPA) Executive Board (2021-2023) and two terms on MPA’s Consultant and Specialty Pharmacists of Michigan (CSPM, 2016-2018, 2020-2022). She was awarded the CPSM Pharmacist of the Year in 2019. She also participated in the Michigan Pharmacy Foundation Health Professional Leadership Academy (‘14/’15). Dr. Tharp is a member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) and is currently serving as the chair of the Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners, Compounding Practice Section Advisory Group. Dr. Tharp has presented nationally and at state level on topics of compounding regulation, safety, and LEAN management within pharmacy.
