Dr. Maria Shin, PharmD, BCGP, BCPS obtained her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University in 2008. Following graduation, Dr. Shin completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She then completed a PGY-2 Geriatrics Residency at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in Little Rock, Arkansas. Following her residency trainings, Dr. Shin was an assistant professor for the Clinical and Administrative Sciences Department at Sullivan University College of Pharmacy (SUCOP) in Louisville, Kentucky from 2010 until 2019. She currently is a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner in Internal Medicine at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center (RRVAMC) in Louisville, Kentucky and an adjunct assistant professor for SUCOP. Dr. Shin’s special interests are Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, and Research. She is currently the Chair of the Pharmacy Residency Research Committee at RRVAMC. Dr. Shin also has been the content matter expert for the ASHP Geriatric Pharmacy Specialty Review and Recertification program since 2016.
