Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

Elise Metts, PharmD, BCCCP is an Emergency Medicine (EM) Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and EM PGY2 Residency Program Director at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She completed her PharmD at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy (UKCOP). She then went on to complete her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency and PGY2 Specialty residency in EM at UK HealthCare. She has served as an active member of multiple organizations including ACCP, ASHP, and the Academic Emergency Medicine Pharmacist interest group of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine. She plays an active role in the training of both EM physician residents and Advanced Practice Provider residents within her department, while also playing a large role in the training of pharmacy residents throughout the UK HealthCare enterprise. Within her role as Assistant Adjunct Professor at UKCOP, she co-coordinates the Emergency Medicine elective and precepts students during experiential rotations. Her current professional interests include resident training and development, resuscitation, and antimicrobial stewardship.
