Abigail Elmes-Patel, PharmD, MHPE, BCPS is a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Pharmacist at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy. After earning her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, she completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency focused in ambulatory care at Northeastern University in Boston. Dr. Elmes-Patel then completed an Academia/Family Medicine Research Fellowship at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy where she concurrently earned her Master of Health Professions Education. Her clinical area focuses on a medical mobile unit that provides low threshold buprenorphine, harm reduction, wound care, and primary care to Chicago neighborhoods hardest hit by the opioid epidemic. As such, her research focuses on substance use disorder, implementation science, and competency-based education.
