Henry A Gonzales, M.S. is a final year pharmacy student at Midwestern University – Glendale’s 3 year program. His past Naval leadership training primed him for continued service at Midwestern and as a healthcare professonal. His was elected by his peers as President of ASHP-SSHP, Secretary of the Asian Pacific Island and Desi (APID) club, Secretary of Nuclear Pharm club, and Worthy Vice Counselor for Phi Delta Chi (PDC). Through SSHP, strategic goals achieved included: 1) increasing pharmacy career perspectives by hosting diverse speakers (Jehovah’s Witness hospital liaison committee members, industry medical science liaisons, small and rural hospital pharmacy); 2) promoting participation in the local Clinical Skills competition and preparation for national representation; 3) showcased Midwestern's SSHP last Midyear spotlighting the grassroots initiative to develop a pharmacist-driven hospital device show and share series. Through APID, he promoted campus wide cultural events to increase diversity and awareness of various backgrounds. With Nuclear Pharm, he further promoted nontraditional pharmacy careers by scheduling on site tours at local nuclear pharmacy centers. Through PDC, he coordinated and organized Midwestern's annual fundraiser to St. Jude for children with rare cancers and diseases. He now sits on the ASHP Student Forum Career and Leadership Development Commitee.
