Daniel J. Cobaugh, Pharm.D. FAACT, DABAT is the senior vice president of professional development and publishing at ASHP and editor in chief of AJHP. He also hosts the AJHP Voices podcast. Cobaugh serves as a voice for LGBTQ+ people in pharmacy.
Cobaugh received his B.S. in Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his Pharm. D. degree from Duquesne University. He completed an ASHP-accredited residency at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and a clinical toxicology fellowship at the Pittsburgh Poison Center and is board certified in clinical toxicology.
Cobaugh served as coordinator of the UPMC Toxicology Treatment Program and as director of the Finger Lakes Poison and Drug Information Center in Rochester, NY. He has held faculty appointments at the University of Pittsburgh, University of Rochester, and George Washington University. While serving on the staff of the American Association of Poison Control Centers, he was responsible for implementation of the U.S. nationwide toll-free poison center number. Cobaugh was vice president of the ASHP Foundation where he was responsible for awards, clinical education, research and special programs.
Dr. Cobaugh has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and numerous book chapters. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology. Cobaugh has been a consultant to the World Health Organization, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Department of Transportation.
