Ben Miskle is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. Prior to arriving in Iowa, he completed a psychiatric pharmacy residency program at the Chillicothe Veterans Affairs Medical Center, in Chillicothe, Ohio. He has published articles on addiction treatment services across the United States, substance use and stigma in pregnancy, older adult first-time admissions for substance use disorders, and cannabis use disorder treatment to name a few. Dr. Miskle runs the integrated access project, for people needing testing and treatment for hepatitis C and HIV while enrolled in substance use disorder treatment across Iowa. He started the Naloxone in Schools project, to assist schools across the state of Iowa on overdose and naloxone education. Dr. Miskle was awarded the Iowa Pharmacy Associations Excellence in Innovation Award for the creation of this project.
