Lisa Janssen Carlson, PharmD, BCOP, DPLA, is the Investigational Drug Services (IDS) Manager at University of California (UC) San Francisco Health, overseeing five decentralized locations and supporting over 700 clinical trials. She excels in delivering research pharmacy services with a focus on metrics and paperless practices, including converting to electronic orders and utilizing technology. She co-founded the Society of Research Clinicians and Peak Pharmacy Group, LLC.
Dr. Janssen Carlson began her career at Santa Cruz Biotechnology after earning a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from UC Santa Cruz. Her pharmaceutical industry experience spans over a decade in small molecule translational oncology research at Genentech and Scios, contributing to the TGFβ project and a publication in Neuro-Oncology. She earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from Pacific University in 2014, publishing work on micellar drug delivery in the Journal's of Controlled Release and Pharmaceutical Science. She completed a PGY1 Residency at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center and achieved Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy.
Dr. Janssen Carlson has served as adjunct faculty and guest lecturer at Oregon State University, Pacific University, and Washington State University. She provides IDS experiential opportunities for learners as a qualified ASHP preceptor including UCSF Genentech Fellowship and PGY2 Oncology-IDS. She has presented at ASHP and HOPA Annual Meetings and McCreadie Research Pharmacy Summits and is actively involved in numerous pharmacy professional organizations.
