Dr. Therese Saad, PharmD, EMHCL, BCPS, BCPPS is the Associate Pharmacy Director for the Business Unit at the American Universty of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC), a leading healthcare institution in Beirut, Lebanon. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Saad has established herself as a distinguished expert in pediatric pharmacotherapy and strategic business operations.
Dr. Saad earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Saint Joseph University followed by a master’s in healthcare leadership from the American University of Beirut. She also holds two board certifications in pharmacotherapy and pediaric pharmacotherapy.
In her current role, Dr. Saad oversees the strategic management of the pharmacy business unit, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services. She is involved in mitigating the impact of drug shortages on patient care. Her approach to tackling drug shortages includes leveraging data analytics, optimizing inventory management, and establishing alternative sourcing strategies. Her efforts have significantly improved the availability of critical medications, enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiency in her insitution, during the substantial economic crisis that hit the country in 2021.
She is a preceptor and member of the residency advisory committee of the PGY1 pharmacy residency program at AUBMC. She is member in various professional associations including the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Pediatric Pharmacy Association and contributed to publications, presentations, and conferences at the national and international levels.
