Dr. Allison Hursman graduated from North Dakota State University (NDSU) in 2011 with a doctorate in pharmacy. Following graduation, she gained extensive experience working at an independent community pharmacy and doing Medication Therapy Management (MTM), immunizations and Long-Term Care Consulting. She was awarded the Distinguished Young Pharmacist award for North Dakota in 2019. She then transitioned to an academic role as an ambulatory care faculty member at NDSU, where she established and developed clinical pharmacy services in a new clinic. She has taught various pharmacotherapy topics and led hands-on skills labs.
Currently, Dr. Hursman works in population health, focusing on achieving high-quality, cost-effective care as it relates to pharmacy metrics. She is board-certified in geriatrics and is a certified tobacco treatment specialist. Her research interests include expanding the role of pharmacists in community and ambulatory care settings.
Outside of her professional life, Allison enjoys spending time with her two young children, reading, and traveling.
