Damika Walker, PharmD, is the Registered Manager at Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy located inside of Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC. Dr. Walker holds a BA degree in Chemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill and a PharmD degree from Howard University College of Pharmacy. Upon graduating from pharmacy school, Damika embarked on a post-graduate internship with the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and Giant Eagle Pharmacy. Upon returning to the Washington, DC area, she launched her pharmacy career in independent community pharmacy. In 2018, Dr. Walker transitioned into a new role of Immunization Program Clinical Coordinator at Grubb’s Care Pharmacy, the oldest independent pharmacy in Washington, DC. Her clinical role at Grubb’s afforded her the opportunity to join Washington DC’s immunization coalition, ImmunizeDC, which led to her selection as the vice chair of the coalition in 2019 and then unanimously voted as the chair in 2021, a position she currently holds. Desiring to make a greater impact in the underserved population, Damika joined Walgreens as a retail pharmacy manager in February 2022; in August 2022, she transitioned into her current role as the Registered Manager of Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy. In addition to serving as an APPE and residency primary preceptor, in June 2024, Dr. Walker accepted the offer to serve as the Residency Program Director of the Walgreens/Howard University College of Pharmacy PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program.
