Pharmacy Manager of Residency & Education

Ashlee McMillan, PharmD, BCACP, is the Pharmacy Manager of Residency and Education at West Virginia University (WVU) Medicine-WVU Hospitals. Dr. McMillan received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from WVU in 2009 and completed a post-graduate residency with an emphasis in ambulatory care at the Shenandoah University Bernard J Dunn School of Pharmacy and Amherst Family Practice in Winchester, Virginia in 2010.
After residency she was hired as an Assistant Clinical Professor and Director of Skills Development at the WVU School of Pharmacy where she remained for thirteen years. In addition to didactic teaching she precepted pharmacy students, residents and fellows on academic teaching rotations. She also advised undergraduate pre-pharmacy students where she witnessed the direct impact COVID-19 had on high school and early college students with socialization and virtual learning. She was directly involved with curriculum development, including a new elective for health, wellness, and mindfulness where she incorporated projects that were specifically tailored to the Generation Z population.
She completed additional training through the WVU Academy of Excellence in Teaching and Learning and the WVU Health Sciences Center Teaching Scholars Program.
In May of 2023 she switched to her current position where she now serves as the Residency Program Manager for all WVU Medicine residency programs (11 programs and 23 residents) and the Residency Program Director for the PGY-1 Acute Care Residency program.
