Shannon Buxell graduated from Pacific University of Oregon School of Pharmacy and completed 2 years of residency at Oregon Health & Science University, a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and a PGY2 in Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency. She received her Master of Public Health degree from Dartmouth College. She is board-certified in sterile compounding (BCSCP) and is passionate about sterile compounding and hazardous drug management.
In her professional role, Shannon serves as System Pharmacy Director of Pharmacy Operations & Regulatory for the Providence St. Joseph Health System. In this role, she participates in various compliance and regulatory related initiatives, including oversight of the PSJH system USP Compounding Committee, facilitating the PSJH hazardous drug handling program, coordinating the controlled substance diversion prevention program, and Drug Supply Chain Security compliance.
