Professor of Experiential Practice

Dr. Courtney Gamston, ScM, PharmD, BCPS is a Professor of Experiential Practice at Auburn University’s Harrison College of Pharmacy (HCOP). She is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and HCOP. She completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency through HCOP’s Division of Clinical Affairs and Outreach (CAO) before starting her career in academia. Her practice and research focus on the development and evaluation of ambulatory care pharmacy services with specific emphasis on chronic disease state management. She works with an interprofessional team of clinicians to provide services to diverse populations including employees of a self-insured employer, Veterans, the medically underserved, and rural communities.
She serves as the Residency Program Coordinator for CAO’s PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice and Community-based residency programs. She is an active member in ASHP, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (ACCP), and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) Network of Minority Research Investigators (NMRI) and serves on the ASHP Foundation Research Advisory Council. She also serves as a reviewer for proposals from several grant programs offered through ASHP, ACCP, and AACP.
