Clinical Pharmacy Manager

Stephanie Bird, PharmD, BCCCP is the clinical pharmacy manager at Houston Methodist West Hospital in Houston, TX. Stephanie is originally from Katy, TX and completed her undergraduate course work at the University of Texas in Austin. She graduated pharmacy school from University of Houston and went on to complete her PGY1 and critical care PGY2 at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she served as chief resident while completing her PGY2 in critical care. Prior to moving to Methodist West, Stephanie used her scope of practice to provide direct patient care to veterans at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Administration Medical Center (MEDVAMC). She was credentialed and privileged as a critical care pharmacy practitioner and served in the surgical ICU for nearly a decade. While in critical care, Stephanie’s primary interest was in cardiothoracic surgery, with a focus on enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols and management of refractory vasoplegic shock. Stephanie has previously published on post-operative pain management and use of angiotensin in refractory vasoplegic shock. Currently she is focusing on expanding transition of care services and starting a PGY1 residency program at her institution, where she will serve as program director.
