James Masterson received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh. He began his career working at Kaiser Permanente before accepting a commission in the U.S. Army as a pharmacy officer. During his time in the Army, he has held various roles in pharmacy practice with most of the last 20 years spent in pharmacy leadership roles. Since joining the Army, he has completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Hawaii. He has received numerous awards during his time in the military including the Order of Military Merit and the Army Medical Department’s 9A proficiency designator for professional excellence. He currently serves at the Army Surgeon General’s Office as the Director of the Army Pharmacy Readiness Program.
