  • Describe the challenges and benefits of buprenorphine in the acute pain setting.
  • Develop possible therapeutic plans for a patient admitted with acute or chronic pain using buprenorphine before admission.
  • Develop possible therapeutic plan(s) for acute pain management of a patient using buprenorphine for opioid use disorder.
  • Discuss options for converting a patient receiving full mu agonist therapy in the hospital to buprenorphine before discharge.
  • Describe how to manage the multiple factors involved in the transition of care from hospital to community for patients started on buprenorphine.
